Lion & Cub are visual storytellers, and stories are what we as humans respond to. In order to tell your story, we need to get to know you – find out what makes you tick – and work with you to find the best angles for both you and your story.
Rather than treating our clients as numbers, we invest time, energy and thought into every shoot, from the first call to the presentation of finished work for you to proudly display. We are a bespoke service, crafted with people in mind, so we tailor the experience to you.
An initial consultation will help us get an idea of what you want, how you see yourself and the story you want to tell. We can do this in the studio, at your house/ place of business, or at a cafe/ bar you like. This is the perfect time to show us what inspires you, we can make a mood board together, discuss props, and think about locations.
Once you’ve decided on a date and booked your session, we take a $50 deposit to save the date, and we schedule a time after the shoot for the big reveal! This can be in the studio, in your home or via Zoom, whatever works.
The day of your photography session is all about you – we’ll handle the logistics, the lugging and even the weather if we have to! Our lead photographer, Nikki McLennan, takes care of the rest, making sure you are comfortable, happy and empowered the whole way through. Feel free to discuss what’s going on – sometimes the killer shots are the ones caught on the fly!
We’ll try and get your portraits back to you as soon as we can, and this reveal session is a joy for everyone! In the studio, at your home, via Zoom, this consultation is your opportunity to design the images you connect with into finished artwork according to your specifications – anything from a framed canvas triptych to a fine-art photographic print.

Newborn Photography Sydney
Maternity & Newborn Photography
We recommend maternity sessions are booked no later than 32 weeks, and maternity shoots always work best in the morning. While this is about mama and baby, we never exclude father’s-to-be and having the family there can add a lovely dimension. It’s worth considering the shoot itself as a pampering session, a chance to honour the changes in your body and the impending birth of your baby.
Capturing the mesmerising beauty of newborns takes experience and requires training to we able to safely pose your bub. Some babies will snooze peacefully on their parent’s shoulder for the entire shoot; others? Well, let’s just say we’ve seen it all! Our magic box is always on hand with snuggly rugs, tinkly toys and sparkling things to entertain and catch the light.
Business Branding Sydney
Personal branding shoot days are Wednesday through to Sunday, and while this is a professional service to help promote your brand, they can be a lot of fun.
We do an initial consultation in person or over zoom to discuss what you need to be photographed – are their products or artworks? Or several team members and a new premises?
Once we’ve talked through what you need in terms of content in a visual branding strategy session we plan the sessions.
From beaches to the bush, industrial inner-city warehouses to chic wine bars, we’ve got a treasure trove of ideas to find the right story for your brand.
The finished product will be fully edited, which means any worries you have can be magically removed! Images are provided in colour and black and white, in print and web-friendly versions.
Wedding Photography Sydney
Lead photographer Nikki will openly admit that one of her favourite things is hearing about wedding day plans, the flowers, the venue, the dress… From that moment, she starts to plan for the big day, and trust us – it is the greatest day, so you need a photographer who understands exactly what you want so you can focus on you. First up, a consultation, preferably in person at a bar or cafe you like. Then, we can book a pre-wedding portrait shoot, which is a 45 minute shoot on the beach, in the park – wherever – it’s like a practice run for the big day and so we’re all clear about what you want.
OR if you want to do something a little different book a bridal lingerie session – take a look at our gallery! This can be a total surprise for your groom on the day of the wedding, or it can be a couples’ shoot. The day itself is about you – we’ll take care of the rest, making sure you feel happy and empowered the whole time. Choose from three wedding packages.
We’ll try and get your images back to you as soon as we can, and this reveal session is an absolute joy for newlyweds. This is where you get to leisurely decide on all your favourites, choose images for an album and see how your shots will look as artworks.

Wall art and albums
This is the best bit of the job: seeing your expression when you first glimpse what we have captured is a golden moment and truly rewarding.
Over a cup of tea or a glass of wine, take the time you need to decide from an incredible range of images, in the studio, in your home or via Zoom. This reveal session will allow you to choose the shots you connect with most, and get an idea of how they will look in your home thanks to Lion & Cub’s revolutionary software, which allows you to see what your work will look like as an artwork in any room.
A combination of effective lighting, experienced direction, professional retouching and a specialist production team are the magic ingredients. Combined, they mean we can create powerful, elegant and beautiful pictures and high-quality albums, portrait boxes, wall-art collections and traditionally framed works.
And we understand the joy of sharing your images on social media, with family and friends overseas and in digital frames, so all files are delivered via slideshow and presented via an online gallery – rather than an USB to hide in a drawer forever more…
Our Pricing
Lion & Cub is upfront and transparent with its pricing – just ask us at any point, or request our product guide and price list from the contact page. There is no minimum spend and Payright plans are available. To give you an idea, most families spend between $650-4000.
For every photo shoot, there’s an initial investment of $200 for the session, which covers our time and experience. This is payable upon booking.
